Who we are
Excel Tribe (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at https://joinexceltribe.com, where we provide digital and entrepreneurship skills training, courses, memberships, mentorship and community access.

What information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, enrol in a course or join a membership, we collect your name, email address, username and password, together with any profile details you choose to add.
Learning and membership activity
We record your course enrolments, lesson and topic progress, quiz attempts and scores, assignments, certificates earned, membership level and renewal dates. This is what allows us to show you where you stopped, issue certificates and give you access to the right content.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Paystack. Your card details are entered on Paystack’s systems and are never stored on our servers. We retain a record of the transaction — amount, currency, date, status, the plan or product purchased and a payment reference — so we can manage your access, renewals, receipts and refunds.
Communications and support
If you subscribe to our newsletter, fill in a form, book a session or open a support ticket, we collect the details you submit along with our correspondence with you. Our email system records whether marketing emails were delivered, opened and clicked so we can measure what is useful and stop sending what is not.
Community content
Posts, comments, replies and messages you share in the Excel Tribe community are visible to other members according to that space’s settings. Please do not post personal information there that you would not want other members to see.
Technical information
Our servers and security software automatically log your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the times you access the site. We use this to keep the site running, detect abuse and block malicious traffic.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences and language, keep items in your cart, and track referrals from our affiliate partners. If you log in, we set cookies that store your login state and screen display choices; these are removed when you log out. Affiliate referral cookies identify which partner referred you so that commission can be attributed correctly.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, but parts of the site — including login, checkout and course access — will not work correctly without them.
Embedded content from other websites
Our lessons and pages may include embedded content such as videos or images hosted elsewhere. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website, and those sites may collect data about you, set their own cookies and monitor your interaction with that content.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Excel Tribe:
- Paystack — to process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Our email and hosting providers — to deliver transactional and marketing email and to host the website.
- Our affiliate programme — where a partner referred you, we record the referral so commission can be paid. Partners see referral and commission data, not your payment details.
- Security and infrastructure providers — to protect the site against attacks and to serve pages quickly.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our members or the security of the service.
How long we keep your information
Account, course progress and certificate records are kept for as long as your account is open, so that your learning history and credentials remain available to you. Transaction records are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax and accounting purposes. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.
Your rights over your information
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate, ask us to delete your information, or object to us using it for marketing. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link at the bottom of any such email — this does not stop essential messages about your account, purchases or course access.
You can view and edit most of your details yourself from your account area. For anything else, email hello@joinexceltribe.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to keep some information where we are legally obliged to do so.
If you are in Nigeria, you also have rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have equivalent rights under the UK GDPR and the GDPR and may complain to your local supervisory authority.
Where your information is sent
Some of the providers listed above operate outside Nigeria, which means your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard.
Children
Excel Tribe is intended for adults and for young people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will tell you by email or through a notice on the site.
